My Morning Routine With 8 Kids
Life in our house starts early. With eight kids and two working parents, mornings could easily turn chaotic. Over time I’ve developed a simple routine that helps us start the day smoothly.
Here’s what mornings really look like in our home.
Preparing the Night Before
One of the biggest things that helps our mornings run smoothly is preparing the night before.
Things we do the night before:
- lay out clothes
- pack backpacks
- prep lunches
- check school schedules
This saves us a lot of time and stress in the morning.
Staggered Wake-Up Times
Instead of waking everyone up at once, we stagger wake-up times so the bathroom and kitchen don’t become crowded.
This helps keep the morning calmer and more organized.
Simple Breakfast Options
For busy mornings we keep breakfast simple:
- oatmeal
- eggs
- fruit
- yogurt
Having a few go-to breakfast options keeps mornings moving quickly.
Every family is different, but having a consistent routine makes a huge difference when managing a large household.
